Helping Orphans Out of Poverty

HOOP is also the Afrikaans word for HOPE.

The HOOP is being used daily in South Africa to make meals for vulnerable children!
Below are pictures that were taken in August 2017 at the Mosaic Paarl Community Center.

The HOOP has been added to the five existing shipping containers to complete the Mosaic Paarl Valley community center.

In May 2016, a 40 foot shipping container was dropped off at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Downingtown, PA.

The container was renovated over the summer and shipped to Paarl Valley, South Africa on October 6, 2016.

The inside of the container was renovated by volunteers to become a kitchen and a meeting/exam room.

The HOOP arrived in Paarl Valley, South Africa on Wednesday, November 30th.  This gave the Hopewell mission trip team only a day to work on it.  To finish the project, Tony Brantzeg and a co-worker Joel King flew to South Africa the day after Christmas to finish the renovations on the HOOP.  The renovations were completed on Monday, January 2nd.  The kitchen and meeting room are ready to be used!
