Move for Mosaic Moms

You can Move for Mosaic Moms by virtually hiking up the iconic Table Mountain together, to help our moms to overcome the daily mountains (challenges) they face… providing their kids with healthy food, good education, emotional support and access to opportunities.

The main feature of Table Mountain is the level plateau approximately three kilometres (2 miles) from side to side, edged by impressive cliffs. The plateau, flanked by Devil’s Peak to the east and by Lion’s Head to the west, forms a dramatic backdrop to Cape Town. This broad sweep of mountainous heights, together with Signal Hill, forms the natural amphitheater of the City Bowl and Table Bay harbour. The highest point on Table Mountain is towards the eastern end of the plateau and is marked by Maclear’s Beacon, a stone cairn built in 1865 by Sir Thomas Maclear for trigonometrical survey. It is 1,086 metres (3,563 ft) above sea level, and about 19 metres (62 ft) higher than the cable station at the western end of the plateau. Sounds beautiful, doesn’t it?

Here’s the great part!! Even though we can’t all fly to South Africa to participate by actually climbing Table Mountain, we can all join in by hiking, walking, running, moving however you enjoy, to see how many times we can summit Table Mountain together virtually. The elevation of Table Mountain is 3560ft and we will all hike together on Saturday, November 20th.

Every $100 you contribute is moving our Mosaic moms 1 foot up the 3560ft high “mountain” of caring for orphaned & vulnerable children.
